Dear Family,
Parents/Caregivers and Guardians,
The Office of Student
Protection and Title IX (OSP) Sexual Misconduct and Title IX Student Training
covers the following 5 learning objectives in developmentally appropriate
language:
- Students will understand CPS Title IX
Policy and Discrimination Statement
- Students will know who the Title IX
Coordinator is, what OSP does, and how to get in touch with OSP
- Students will understand what
constitutes sexual harassment
- Students will be aware of the
resources available to students who report sexual harassment or
retaliation, including interim measures pending an investigation
- Students will know what to do if they
believe they or other students have been subjected to sexual
harassment
As a district OSP has
collaborated across a number of departments to create developmentally
appropriate sessions that will allow students to identify abuse and empower
them to report any wrong doing that may have occurred. The sessions have been
broken down by PreK-3rd Grade, 4th-8th Grade, and 9th-12th Grade and are all
around 30-45 minutes.
Parents have the right to
opt-out of the the Office of Student Protection and Title IX Student Training.
