Good Evening Sherwood Family:
I hope you are enjoying your summer break and relaxing with family and friends. The building feels so lonely and deserted without our children in the building. We miss all of you very much and we cannot wait until August!
Sherwood was planning to have an in person summer program this year, but unfortunately Sherwood is not allowed to have in person summer programs due to major construction going on in the building. If your child has NOT been advised to attend Nicholson or Randolph and you believe they would benefit to attend a summer program, please contact Sherwood Park and additional information will be available on our website as it becomes available. Feel free to also call me or Ms. Beal if you have any questions or concerns about other programs.
Every Monday I am going to email you reminders and information for you and your family. Please feel free to also visit our website:

Please knock on the door when you arrive and someone will assist you immediately. For support with this program please call me at the number below.
5. COVID-19 vaccination events are created and planned throughout the City of Chicago,
the City operates sites offering COVID-19 vaccinations, a temporary clinic will open Wednesday, July 7th, 2021 from 1:00-5:00PM at the Kleo Center Food Drive located at 119 E Garfield Blvd. The Pfizer (≥ 12yo – 2 dose series) and J&J (≥ 18yo – 1 dose series) COVID-19 vaccines will be offered free of charge with no registration, ID, or insurance required.
As an incentive, Illinois residents who are vaccinated by August 19th will be entered into the All In For The Win state lottery:
- Vaccinated youth are entered into a $3 million scholarship pool (breakdown below):
- Twenty $150k scholarship awards are being offered
- Vaccinated adults are entered into a $7 million cash prize pool (breakdown below):
- Three $1 million jackpots
- Forty $100k cash prizes
Given that our school is within approximately 1 mile of this location, this may be an additional resource for you parents/legal guardians who are interested in obtaining the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for their child(ren) ≥ 12yo or for their family members ≥ 18yo who have not received a COVID-19 vaccine yet and would prefer a 1 dose series with the J&J COVID-19 vaccine.
Should this event or any other currently scheduled vaccination event throughout the City of Chicago not work for your students' and parents/legal guardians' schedule(s), a new option is available for families to receive either the Pfizer or J&J vaccines at home! Participation in the "Protect Chicago at Home" program can be done by calling 312-746-4835 to make an appointment for up to 10 individuals per home location. Interested participants may also schedule their appointment(s) online by registering here. As an incentive to participate in this program, families will receive a $50 Grubhub gift card per household while supplies last.
Flyers for this event and the City of Chicago's "Protect Chicago at Home" Program (English & Spanish) are on our website - sherwood.cps.edu.

Please make sure your child visits their physician in order to provide us with updated physicals and vaccinations for the upcoming school year. This is mandatory and students will be excluded without the necessary paperwork. Thanks so much for your cooperation.
8. Updated addresses, phone numbers, emails and texts are Ms. Larry's responsibility. She can be reached at our main number 773-535-0829 or email her or text me with changes please.
Thanks so much and have a safe week.
