WEEKLY SHERWOOD UPDATES

Good Afternoon Parents and Families:

I hope all of you are doing well.  Feel free to stop by to pick up a learning packet for your child between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. beginning today.  I can also email you the packet if that would be easier for you.  Please email me if you need me to email you a copy with your child's grade level. I also have important information emailed to you and is available on our website regarding weekly testing for our children and vaccinations if you are interested as well as other matters.  Please visit our website or check your email.  for you to review regarding learning enrichment packets, weekly COVID testing at our school and vaccination sites below. Please review this email carefully and call us if you have any questions or concerns.

1. Learning Packets for your child are available on our website under PARENT COMMUNICATIONS sherwood.cps.edu. I can also email you a learning packet in case you have a printer and you would like to download it at home.  The learning packets are optional, but we put them together in order to  keep our children engaged in learning as they learn from home.

2. Register your child for WEEKLY COVID TESTING at Sherwood - Here is the Link - https://home.color.com/covid/sign-up/start?partner=tf-she-610173-students

3.  Please self-report COVID-19 to keep our school community safe:  https://chicagopsprod.service-now.com/health?id=cps_self_report&screener=4e0f11c7db34cd50ff10892a489619e9&step=complete

5. To find a test site near you, visit chicago.gov/covidtesting or cps.edu/youthCOVIDtesting. If your child tests positive for COVID-19, please report their case at cps.edu/covidresults and they must stay home for at least 10 days from when symptoms began.

6. Vaccination Information - The best way to keep you and your child safe from COVID-19 is to get vaccinated. Vaccines are safe, effective, and available to everyone ages five and up. In addition, vaccinated students who are exposed to COVID-19 can avoid quarantine and stay in the classroom as long as they remain without symptoms. To find a vaccine appointment, search http://vaccines.gov, text your ZIP code to 438829, call 1-800-232-0233, or visit cps.edu/vaccinations.

Again, CPS also strongly encourages families to sign their child up for weekly COVID-19 testing at school by visiting color.com/readycheckgo-cps.

If you need help locating medical care or have any CPS-specific questions, please visit cps.edu or reach out to  the Healthy CPS Hotline at 773-553-KIDS (5437), which is staffed 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Thank you so much and stay safe.

Sincerely,

Alice Buzanis

Principal
